How do I save a restaurant? + −
Tap the share icon on a post in Instagram or TikTok and choose Umami from the share sheet, take a screenshot of any food post and Umami will detect it, or share a Google Maps pin straight to the app. Either way, Umami extracts the restaurant name, location, and photos automatically.
How do I save a spot from Google Maps? + −
Two ways: share a spot directly from Google Maps to Umami through the share sheet, or paste a Maps link when adding a new spot in Umami.
Does Umami scan all my photos? + −
No. Umami only looks at photos or screenshots you deliberately add to the app -we never scan your full photo library.
Is my data private? + −
Yes. Your saves are private by default and only visible to you. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
